Emily is the founder and owner of Carolina Birth and Wellness.  She believed there was a need for families in the Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill area to have one location for all of their birth and wellness related goals. As a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist in North Carolina (LMBT#11800), a trained Birth Doula, and a Certified Educator of Infant Massage, Emily is in the unique position to work with individuals and families in various stages of their life, and incorporate her wellness training into each aspect of her work.

As a Birth Doula, Emily offers every person unbiased, nonjudgemental emotional, physical, and educational support through pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.  Professional trained through ProDoula, she believes that her clients know what they want, and works hard to completely support them through pregnancy and the birth process.

Emily believes massage therapy is an important component to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and enjoys helping everyone learn how massage therapy can best fit into their wellness routine.  With having a strong foundation in Swedish and Myofascial massage, as well as being certified in prenatal and postnatal massage, hot stone massage, and Thai reflexology, Emily is passionate about working with individuals to build a customized massage session that allows each person to reach their optimal health potential.

As a Certified Educator of Infant Massage, Emily teaches parents and caregivers how to connect to their children through the power of massage.  Her classes not only focus on building a strong foundation in learning the massage strokes, but also in reading babies cues and facilitating the bonding process.  Her classes also provide a safe place for parents and caregivers to learn from their peers and talk about the struggles and joys of parenthood.

Emily obtained her Bachelors of Arts from the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado, and then attended Body Therapy Institute for massage in Silk Hope, North Carolina.  She has been a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist in North Carolina since 2011 and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association.   She is a trained, professional Birth Doula through ProDoula and trained with Infant Massage, USA to become a Certified Educator of Infant Massage.

Emily and her husband, Zach, are parents to their wonderful son, Cole, born June 2015.  She is excited to introduce her son to some of her passions that include exploring the mountains, cooking and raising positive awareness of Pit Bulls in the Raleigh area.
