Planning now for life with a new baby will make everyone happier, healthier and safer in the sometimes chaotic postpartum period.
So often planning for the nursery, baby showers, pregnancy, and birth leaves little time for parents to actually think about what it will like to have an additional person living in their home soon.
Our postpartum planning class introduces the idea that you can prepare for the unknown that is parenthood by learning about what matters to you, as a parent, an individual and as a spouse/partner. We will also discuss in depth what postpartum mood disorders look like in both women and men, and how, when and where to seek help.
At the end of class, each family will be given a detailed 15 page document intended to help prepare for and plan how you intend to care for your entire family once baby arrives. Just like a birth plan, this plan is fluid and can be changed as often as you feel necessary.
