The First Time Parent's Guide to Childbirth Education

As a first time parent, you are often faced with the idea that you should take childbirth education classes, but you have no idea where to take them or when to take them! Then once you figure out those details, you have no idea about what you are learning! Everyone has different and unique needs, and a standard one size fits all class approach isn’t always what you need.

We offer a unique approach to that traditional model of childbirth class, and we are excited to be able to over this to families across the Triangle.

Private Classes

All of our classes are in the comfort of your own home! This helps are clients really feel comfortable asking those important (personal) questions that you may not feel comfortable asking in front of a group. This privacy creates a place where you feel empowered to learn what works for you and your partner!

Customized Childbirth Education

Different clients have different backgrounds that can impact their knowledge of the birth process. This background not impacts what you need to learn, it also impacts what you do not need to learn.

Whether that is personal experience from support of a friend or family member during their birth, or professional experience as a medical provider, your background means that sometimes information included in a standard childbirth class will be repetitive for you, and therefore not necessary.

Scheduled on Your Own Time

Gone are the days where you have to block off time and rush from work to the class location. Our classes are scheduled on your own time to make sure both the birthing person and partner can be full engaged to hear about all the changes your cervix will be experiencing!

Another benefit of the flexible schedule of our childbirth education classes is that you can take one part of your class in your first trimester (say birth options around the Triangle, how to write a birth plan, common pregnancy complaints, and nutrition during pregnancy). This will give you time to prepare and begin to think about what is important to and what is less important. Then as you get to the beginning of your third trimester (when traditional classes generally start), we have can your labor class where we go over early labor and the stages of labor. And then as you get closer to you 36th week, we can have our final class where we teach you comfort measures to use for labor and birth, medical interventions, golden hour, as well talking emotional and physical recovery from birth and even add in our newborn care class.

By splitting the classes up, you will be able to retain more of the information that is relevant to where you are in your pregnancy, as well as provide a good opportunity to ask your provider any specific questions you may have.

Sounds lovely, right?

You can register directly online and we can get the classes scheduled around your schedule, not the hospital or other people’s schedules.
